Navigation or location issues
If your app stops functioning during route navigation, it’s usually due to settings on your phone. Use these checks to get moving again.
1. Check your app permissions
Location permission must be set to “Always”. Enable notifications to receive turn updates when the screen is off, and keep Motion & Fitness permission on for a smoother experience.
In the app, open Technical Support and choose “Check technical settings” to verify your permissions.
2. Check your phone’s sound volume
Make sure your sound is on and loud enough for voice navigation and turn notifications. On iPhone, set Ringtone and Alert volume to maximum and turn the silent switch off. On Android, set Notifications and Media volume to maximum.
3. Check your phone’s GPS access
On iPhone, turn Location Services on under Settings, Privacy & Security, then Location Services. On Android, turn Location on under Settings, then Location.
4. Check your phone’s power settings
Turn Low Power Mode off on iPhone and Power Saving Mode off on Android. Both can reduce the phone’s navigation performance.
5. Keep your phone visible
On a bicycle tour, use a smartphone holder on the handlebars and keep the screen on. Don’t store the phone in a bag or pocket while riding. If you’re hiking with your phone in a jacket pocket, open the app regularly.
